Help Abdullah, Duaa, and Fawzy escape war and start a new life

My name is Nisha (based in Chicago, IL) and I am helping to raise funds so that Abdullah, his wife Duaa, and his little brother, Fawzy (who is four and a half), can escape Israel’s genocide in Gaza and cross the border into Egypt.

Abdullah, Duaa, and Fawzy have survived nearly a year of horrific bombings, lack of food, drinking contaminated water, and illness without access to medicine. There continues to be no end in sight. They have lost many family members to this horrific onslaught. In other words, they have survived the unimaginable, and every single day their lives continue to be under threat.

There continues to be no safe place in Gaza and the only way to safety is to leave via the Rafah crossing. However, the current cost for a family to cross the border is exhorbitant at $8,000. Anything you can donate makes a huge difference for the chances of getting Duaa, Fawzy and Abdullah to safety. If you are unable to donate at this time, please share with others who might be able to contribute. Before the war began, Abdullah was a student at the University of Applied Sciences in Gaza studying information technology. His university studies were cut short and his university was then destroyed by the Israeli Occupation Forces. Abdullah hopes to continue his studies in Egypt while providing for his family.

From Abdullah: I am your friend Abdullah from Gaza, I am 20 years old, married. Before this war, I was living a very happy life and I had a source of income and a project so that I could spend on my family and not deprive them of anything. We were living in luxury and great joy, but one day this war came suddenly and destroyed my entire future and deprived us of many things and prevented us from luxury. We were very tired and now after these many days that we lived in ruins, I cannot spend on my family because I do not have money because I spent all my money in this big war and I do not have anything with me now. You know that the situation in Gaza is very catastrophic due to the lack of food and water. We drink water that is not fit for drinking and the prices are very expensive. We have been displaced a lot so that we do not expose ourselves to danger from the heavy bombing. With your support, donations and love for me, I can bring joy and happiness to my family and reach my goal in the box. Donate I hope you felt my words. Thank you for reading my story. Your friend Abdullah

I’m sure many of you have heard the reports of widespread famine in Gaza right now–no food or aid has made it in in months and Abdullah tells me a bag of flour is now $700. His family is cooking grass from the ground just to be able to eat something, as they, like so many, have completely run out of food.

Please spread the word to anyone you can and if you are able to spare any amount, it would make a huge difference. Thank you for your support of Abdullah and his family.

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for your support of Abdullah and his family. I write with heavy news: Abdullah’s tent was recently shot at by the Israeli army and Abdullah got a bullet in his foot. He now urgently needs surgery, but because the state of hospitals in Gaza is so dire, he must pay for a private doctor outside of a hospital setting. This will be $500.

Additionally, as you likely know, no humanitarian aid has been making it into Gaza under the current horrific siege/blockade, so the family is barely able to scrape together one meal a day.

If you are able to share this campaign with your networks, or donate even 10 or 20 dollars it could mean the world to Abdullah’s family.

Thank you so much,

Nisha

Hello and my deepest gratitude to all of the of this campaign!

I’m writing to share a message from Abdullah, who just received word that his family will be evicted from the land they are staying on if they don’t pay rent (although they, along with most people in Gaza, are without income). Please continue to share the campaign with others so we can help spread the word!

from Abdullah:

Hello my friends, how are you? I hope you stand by your little brother. I want $500 so that the owner of the land I live on does not evict me and my family because he wants the rent. I hope you will help me with this amount. Help me, even if it is a small amount.

Thank you so much for your support and please keep Abdullah’s family in your thoughts!
